The event took place at Rotllo de Sant Marçal and brought together an enthusiastic audience who enjoyed a varied line-up of local bands with at least one member of Marratxí.

The festival started at 19:00 and lasted until the early hours, offering more than five hours of live music that ranged from hard rock to punk to heavy metal. The legendary Manacorí group Tots Sants, known for their rock songs from the mid-90s, closed the festival with a performance that kept the attendees engaged until the end. In total, more than 700 people passed through the Rotllo de Son Verí.

The repertoires were very varied and each band offered its own style that managed to make the audience jump. Succubus, started the night with their metal repertoire. Núan continued to set the counterpoint with his indie rock. Their guitarist and singer, Salva, assured that he felt very comfortable on stage: “We had a great time. We have played in other years and performing at Marrockxí is playing at home”.

For their part, Mapaches offered guitars and a forceful and torn voice that delighted the lovers of Platero i tu, Marea or Extremoduro and kept the audience moving. Animales Sueltos Music Band brought their unique style of Martian pop-rock to the stage, standing out among the first acts for their charisma.

Sentonze presented a repertoire that combined rock classics with his indie pop rock compositions in Catalan. Ritual Nepal and Caricuper continued the party with a dynamic and energetic alternative rock presence. The T Makers took to the stage with a memorable performance of rock&roll and pop, while Ussentiu kept the pace with his distinctive style of pop-rock fusion with metal, reggae and ska.

Alien Lovers were not left behind and in the rock wake they were followed by debutants Nitebreaker, with an electrifying performance of power metal. Poomse kept the intensity going with their mix of rock and slowcore, and Self Service provided an impressive close to the local acts. Finally, after 2 in the morning, the veterans Tots Sants took the stage and made all the attendees chant their songs. The band from Manacor played the most famous compositions putting the finishing touch on a night full of energy and electric guitars.

The Marratxí City Council thanks all the participating bands and the attendees for making this first night of the Festes de Sant Marçal an unforgettable event. The organization of the festival, the Youth Area and the collaboration of all those involved made an evening of hard rock from Marratxin possible for another year. El Marrockxí emerged in 1996 in Pòrtol and has continued to this day to offer local rock bands the opportunity to perform as part of the Sant Marçal festivities.

The Councilor for Culture, Carmen Cañellas, recalled “that we must enjoy the festivities responsibly. We have the No i Punt tent, in Marrockxí and on the days of the verbenas. We want Marratxí to be a municipality free of sexual assaults, we will have local police officers and Civil Protection volunteers and on social networks you can find a map to know where to go at once if you need these officers”.

For her part, the Councilor for Youth, Carlota Ariza, recalled the collaboration of the Youth Area with Culture to organize the event. Ariza highlighted the public participation: “The attendees were encouraged to come from the early hours of the afternoon, we had half the square full with people of all ages and families. We are very happy because it was filled and they celebrated until the end.”

The Festes de Sant Marçal continue with a variety of events and activities for all ages that will take place until June 30. Among the novelties of the 2024 program, the appointment of soccer player Cata Coll as the first Illustrious Daughter in the history of the municipality stands out, an event open to the public that will be held on Tuesday 25, at 6:00 p.m., at town hall Square.

Another significant innovation is the inauguration of the Sa Refinadora cultural space, which will host the XXXVII Painting Competition with a prize increased to 8,000 euros. This competition, supported by a renowned jury, reaffirms the City Council’s commitment to culture.

The most outstanding concerts include the revetles on Friday 28 and Saturday 29. On Friday 28 the line-up includes performances by Revólver, AfterSuns, Na Pipona and DJ Jaume Colombàs. On Saturday the 29th, it will be the turn of Mut, OR (O-Erra) and DJ Xisqueta.

The program culminates on St. March’s Day, June 30, with the Solemn Mass, the Symphonic Vermouth, the show “A Night on Broadway” and the Night of Humor, closing the celebrations with a Light Show.

The Councilor for Youth, Carlota Ariza: “We are very happy because it was full and they celebrated until the end.” More than six hours of music caused hundreds of rock fans to fill the Rotllo de Sant Marçal Last night…

[504,619,523

post-12828","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-events-en","category-events-en-2","category-music
["GET
