10 establishments have participated in the tapas train route, with two new additions compared to last year

The Fang Tapa is consolidated once again as a summer family day to enjoy the gastronomy of Marratxí. In total, ten establishments from Pòrtol, Sa Cabaneta and Sant Marçal have participated in this edition, with tapas specially prepared for the occasion, on Thursdays the 4th and 11th. A route that could be carried out using the free train, by car private or on foot within the same nucleus.
Among the new additions are two newly created establishments, Engrescats and Cafetería Sant Marçal (former Forn Ca na Teresa), both in Sant Marçal, which have not hesitated to add themselves to the list of train stops and prepare tapas for the occasion.
The Councilor for Economic Promotion; Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Odette Torres, has assured that due to the success of last year, in which more than 8,000 tapas were served during two days in August, in this latest edition more places have joined, “with which we managed to The user experience is even better, since when you arrive at the stops you will find more bars available with tapas, you can choose and are much more comfortable. This year the experience has improved and there are more participants,” he says.
The event, organized by Comerç, is a way to publicize the gastronomy and establishments of Marratxí at different times of the year. In the words of the councilor, “it favors the local economy because the locals make money, which is what we want and they are happy.”
The train, with a capacity of up to 50 people, has made journeys between 35 and 45 minutes, filling the capacity during all journeys. The route began in Sant Marçal and made stops at the eight establishments until reaching Pòrtol.
In addition to the gastronomic route, this edition has opted for the installation of bouncy castles at the exit, the Verónica de Sant Marçal. There, hundreds of families have enjoyed the free activities while waiting for their turn to take the train.
The summer edition of Fang Tapa has had a foreign presence and people from other areas of Marratxí, but also from closer municipalities such as Palma, Santa Eugenia or Santa Maria.
The Marratxí City Council, as organizer of the event, has taken care of the costs of the train, in addition to the recreational activities for the attending families.
