This is the second edition held in Marratxí, repeating the forest of the Fang Museum as the setting and doubling attendance figures.
A dozen illustrators and authors have participated in this sixth edition.
The sixth edition of the Tinta Il·lustre Festival, organized by Little Rata- with the main objective of highlighting the role of illustrators and offering a quality festival for the youngest readers at home- was held at the Fang Museum in Marratxí this weekend and has been a success, doubling the attendance figures from the previous edition.
On Friday, around fifty illustrators, writers, and designers attended the Professional Day organized at the INNSiDE Palma Center where various masterclasses and talks by industry professionals took place, such as Mia Cassany from Mosquito Books, the publishing house that has just won the award for the best European publisher at the Bologna Fair.
On Saturday, hundreds of families came to Marratxí to listen to Steve Smallman tell the story of ‘The Sheep Who Came to Dinner’ and get the book signed by the author, who spent over an hour and a half signing copies. This type of experience is the highlight of the festival: being able to meet their favorite authors. In addition, illustrators Pato Mena, Òscar Julve, and Robert Campillo conducted various workshops throughout the morning where families enjoyed different activities, games, and experiences prepared by the organizers.
The mayor of Marratxí, Jaume Llompart, present at the event, highlighted, “It is a pride that the direction of Tinta Il·lustre has bet on this international artist who is so popular and has attracted so many people here.”

The mayor expressed, “I am proud because I have seen many families and children who want to have a good time and get involved or continue in reading, which is so good for them. Another reason for pride for me as mayor is to highlight the work of all these illustrators, the people who dedicate themselves to writing these books. To reaffirm the commitment of the City Council to culture and the values it transmits.”
Sunday was the day when the little ones filled the Museu del Fang with great expectation for the presentation of the latest book by the music group ‘El pot petit’ who, by surprise, sang some of their musical hits and were going to sign the book for two hours, exhausting all the available books.
But, in addition, it was also possible to carry out workshops with the illustrators OyeMathias, Bàrbara Alca and Nívola Uyá; in addition to the storytellers by La Curiosa, Canciones para Matilda or Catalina Valriu who told the story of ‘El Peix Nicolau’ while Petra Pericàs painted live on stage.
In short, a weekend dedicated to the best of children’s and youth literature that hundreds of families in Marratxí have been able to enjoy.
