Sa Rua

Sa Rua de Marratxí is the first parade and has the honour of inaugurating the carnival festivities in Mallorca. A festival of costumes, music, laughter and colour.

Pòrtol, Sa Cabaneta and Sant Marçal are the towns through which the rua usually parades.

In addition, every year, prizes are awarded to both groups and smaller groups. Prizes are awarded for musical incorporation, choreography, costumes, degree of elaboration, number of members, originality and animation. Although each year, the rules of the competition may change.
